Kuthi? I am doing great.
During my time at TECC, there was a marketing team of Ecotrust visiting the Equator Snow Lodge in Ruboni. As they wanted a white person on their marketing pictures, they instantly reached out to me. I accepted this invitation as long as they were willing to listen to the Rwenzori concept established by Rainforest and Community Tours (RFCT). This invitation had been arranged by Alfred, manager of Ruboni Community Campsite.
As I reached the Equator Snow Lodge, which is an expensive lodge ($130,- per person per night), I met the marketing team of Ecotrust. Ecotrust is an organisation which supports (expensive) lodges and among one of their tasks promote sustainability and conservation within areas surrounding national parks. The marketing team was outsourced to a specific team in Kenya. This team has been making marketing pictures in terms of showing it in 3D and are the first team within East-Africa (in terms of making marketing pictures in 3D). As Ecotrust is planning to take over the Equator Snow Lodge, they want to relaunch the lodge by having a 3D show as well as some beautiful pictures for their website.
During the two marketing days, we have been taking many pictures of both the Equator Snow Lodge and within the Rwenzori National Park. They have also taken pictures of multiple cultural groups such as a traditional dance group. As I was invited for both days, I experienced some expensive traditional dance groups for free as well as having luxurious lunches. Drinks and snacks during the day were fully paid for which was really nice.
The marketing team even carried a drone which they allowed me to play with. Basically, I had control over an expensive drone for a little time. This was fun.
Eventually, Ecotrust also took their time in letting Alfred and me explain the concept of the Rwenzori’s and have agreed upon supporting this concept (in terms of money). This business deal has been created during these days and will be finalized in Kampala. I am travelling to Kampala somewhere in the end of this week as some business deals have to be finalized. During my time in Kampala I will also take some tourist time to see Kampala as well as arrange a possible trip to Rwanda, which will be taken place during the time I have to extend my visa (before May 6th.)

Je bent een " keiharde" onderhandelaar! Heel goed om je project zo te promoten. Geweldig dat je naast het feit dat je op de foto bent gezet nog zoveel andere zaken en marge hebt kunnen meegenieten. Ga zo door.
