11 Oktober 2014 | Letland, Sigulda
On the 11th of October we decided to go to Sigulda. There are three options for reaching Sigulda. The first one is going by car – since we don’t have a car, that wouldn’t be an option. The second one is going by bus – but that means going to Riga first before going to Sigulda. The third and cheapest option is going by train. So that is what we did.
We left 1 hour before departure to the train station. When we arrived at the train station it was incredibly quit. It felt a bit uneasy. After waiting for some time, the train finally arrived. When we entered the train it was such a different experience. Yes, the beginning compare to a Dutch train is the same. But the moment you open the door, it is incredibly wide.
You can stand in the path way with two people next to each other – that is definitely impossible at home! Then the other thing is that the chairs are not directly next to each other, there is some space. In our home country they would easily put a third chair next to the other two..
When we arrived in Sigulda it was very lovely. We went around Sigulda towards the castle. We walked down the pathway through the woods over the beautiful bridge. We walked through the park, saw some cave’s which was written on and then we walked up the hill and we suddenly saw the beautiful castle.
The moment we went in the castle, we looked around. We also climbed the tower which gave us a beautiful view over Sigulda. It is a wonderful
city.
Love,
Joëlle.
