Yangon and travel to Bagan.

Dear readers,
As you might be suprised to be able to read a story of mine, it took me by suprised that I felt like I wanted to write about it. Since, it isn’t a travel likei t usually is. This time it is a study trip for a month within in Asia, visiting Myanmar and Thailand.
On the 15th of March 2015, I took the plane from Schiphol to Singapore and then a plane from Singapore to Yangon. Both plane rides went pretty well, some turbulance but that would be all. Arriving in Yangon early in the morning we were brought to a hotel, slept a little bit and around 4pm we had a guided tour along yangon and went to the biggest paroda (temple) in Myanmar. During the guided tour I took some kind of drug, which you take and spit out, the spit is red, however it wasn’t a drug since they didn’t put the tabacco in – anyway it was a bit disgusting. The temple however was very beautiful. After the temple we went to dinner in chinatown.
The next day we visited the Myanmar tourism federation, which was interesting since we saw the statistics of tourists visiting Myanmar, it is slowly increasing. Afterwards we were free and walked around and saw a bakery & icecream shope where we took a small cake or ice and had a seat before chilling in the park.
The next day we had to check out and had a lecture at a souvenier shop and a lecture at a travel agency, both were very interesting. Especially since it is set up by foreigners but the rest of the staff is local. At 5pm we took the bus from the hotel to the busstation. At the busstation we took a bus at 8pm from Yangon to Bagan. In Bagan we arrived at 5am, we went to the hotel and stayed up till 8.30am. At this time, we took a guided tour around Bagan, especially around the temples of Bagan. The temples are very beautiful. In the afternoon we had a lecture of the grashoppers adventures, a local idea of driving with a bike along the temples. In the evening we ate at a beautiful restaurant with delicious food. After dinner we arranged bikes for the next day.

Nog maar net was ik eraan gewend dat je weer terug was in Nederland ... en je zit al weer aan de andere kant van de wereld in Myanmar.
Heel veel succes. Het lijkt mij een geweldige studiereis.
