The Windy City, Chicago

Dear people,
The end of my journey is nearly insight. I am now in Dublin in the airport. In a few hours I will fly back, back to Amsterdam, to home. But before that happens and my journey will end after my last blog which will be written at home. I would like to tell you about Chicago. The Windy City.
I went to Chicago with Caitlin and Casey, (Caitlin was and is my friend, Casey is Caitlin’s younger sister and is now my friend), together we spend Wednesday and Thursday in Chicago. We left Michigan early Wednesday morning to go by train to Chicago. In Chicago we took a cab to the place we would stay and after that we walked from 2pm – 12am. We went to Navy Pier, shopping streets, memorial buildings etc. We took beautiful pictures. We made a new memory together. We rocked it.
On Thursday we woke up early, got dressed, went to the Disney store because Casey wanted to see it, went to eat somewhere. I had a salad (very healthy, haha!). And then we walked around. When it was time for me to get to my cab I didn’t really know what to say. Because I will miss them and I know we will keep in contact. But somehow it was not just me that didn’t really know what to say. I think we expressed all what we were thinking in a group hug. This is to Caitlin, Casey, Lisa, Don, Sugar and Dixie, thank you for my stay. I enjoyed it. Caitlin, promise me that you will never stop singing, even if it annoys people because it sounds amazing. And you rock your style. Casey, you are always welcome to visit your Dutch friend. To Lisa&Don, once again thank you. I did enjoy it and I know we will stay in contact. To my last new friends, Sugar&Dixie, just keep begging for people-food, I am pretty sure they will still give it to you (only probably a bit less than I did – fat animals you became because of me..).
Chicago is a different city than I expected, the buildings and the city is big, but it also has something magical. When the darkness sets in the lights light up this Windy City. It is beautiful, indescribable and the most amazing thing is I was able to share this with friends.
I think it was even more magical because it is the last stop before heading home. The last moment of traveling, before flying. That is why Chicago will always be a special place. Not just because it is, but because it will have a wonderful memory to me.
