Bula,
On Friday 23-11-2012 is here in Fiji National Children’s day. This day is a day meant for children, all the children are for once in the spotlight. It means that the school has a day of celebration. A day were everybody brings something like cake, sweets, juice and lunch. One of the parents had made lunch, it was too much, it was made for about 40-60 people. One teacher had made a cake. Another teacher brought some ice-cream. I took care of some juice. And some parents took care of juice, cake, sweet, crisp etc. And this day you also play a lot of games. It was a great day although there were only eleven children in our class. The school was kind of empty because from on Thursday night we had rain, rain and you guess it right rain. We had a cyclone passing by on Thursday – Friday afternoon/night.
On Saturday 24-11-2012 drove Betty and I to Suva by car. The drive to Suva was beautiful, there are some great places on the road. And some places you don’t really have to see.
First we went to the cemetery to remember the life of the person who died one year ago. Afterwards we went to the house of her cousin. Half her family was there for this ‘family-day’, it was a day of celebration, of life and death. It was very special to be a part of. I really got to know some people and I would love to stay connected with them.
Around 5 o’clock we went back home. We arrived back home at half past 9. It was a great day. And on the way we stopped on such a lovely place. There we say a blue starfish in the water.
Moce and Take Care,
Joëlle
Ps. Congratz to my lovely mom&dad on their 17 years of marriage.
