Sometimes saying Goodbye is a hard thing, but also good. This was one of those goodbyes. The people of Camp Tinangol were amazing, but for us as travelers we keep on going, so I would call it a sweet goodbye.
The last two weeks in this camp meant sleeping in a longhouse, building a kindergarten for a community, breading our own bracelet (mine is saying Sabah’13) and so much more.
The last day we went to the tip of Borneo, where we had a beautiful view. We took some amazing pictures. And I was sitting on such an amazing spot, that I could see the clouds changing from dark to light, same with the rain that became slower. This spot was higher and I really liked the way how it went down. (For people who are scared of heights, this wasn’t a good spot). After that we went to the beach, here I stepped with my foot on corral. My foot was bleeding for quite a while as well hurting like hell. But I respect it because it is a new experience. But it is definitely something I will never do again or at least try never to do again.
When we came back we had a shower and after that we had a karaoke, bbq, goodbye party.
I will definitely miss Camp Tinangol, because it was an awesome spot and mostly because I slept in a longhouse and not many people can say that.
Love,
Joëlle
