Sabah time in Mantanani

Dear,
The First day, the 18th of march, we were very excited about going to Mantanani and when we arrived it was quiet exciting. The island exist of sand, white sand, it looked beautiful, with palm trees. But there is also rubbish, a lot of trash. The camp is next to the beach, or actually the camp is the start of the end of the beach and the beginning of the small forest. It is nice to see. When you walk without flip flops the sand is soft and light, it feels fresh and warm, but it is still cold enough to walk on. I am sleeping in a banghouse, this means it is a hammock places like a stretcher with a mosquito net above you. This camp and island is very relaxing but it gives a lot of time to think.
The day of arriving we went to see one of the villages and one of the projects we would be working on. We also helped unloading the boat. The rest of the day we relaxed a bit. The next day we saw the other village and also the other project. During last week we built a fence by the library and we finished ‘’nearly’’ the compost hut, by building the walls and the roof. During the afternoon we usually did some relaxing things like, hammock making, coconut course, binbags making, collecting trash and we made some coconut oil. It was a nice and relaxing week; Sabah time.
Yesterday I went diving on Mantanani with a few of my friends; Amber, Koen and Mathieu. Somehow this spot was not the most amazing spot although it says it is the second best spot of Borneo.
Today we went to Mantanani Kecil by boat, here we relaxed a little bit on the beach, swam and I looked for a few shelves to make a bracelet or necklace. After that we went around the Island and saw a eagle then we went to the coral sandbank. It was a sandbank made of coral. Dead coral. It looked so amazing, but so sad knowing it was dead coral.
For now I want to say make it Sabah Time!
