The last day

Dear readers,
Today is my last day in Borneo, Malaysia. I have to say I enjoyed my stay a lot. It didn’t feel like home, only at my home stay. I would say it felt like traveling. I am not sure if I would like to return to Borneo, it is for sure a beautiful country. I would prefer to be out of the city because Kota Kinabalu is not really a beautiful city. If I ever have the chance to come back, I would, because I would like to be able to see the rafflesia flower and climb Mt Kinabalu.
Today I will also pack my bag, I am going to the airport in 14 hours (writing this at 10 am). We already said goodbye to Coen and Emma, they just left. It was strange seeing them leaving but it is also a good thing because now ‘It is the End.’ I will be going to the Philippines.
I always write a poem in dutch about the country I have been. I also tried this with Borneo. Below that will be translation, as good as, the sentences.

Borneo
Het land waar je bent,
Bent voor 2 maanden,
Daar waar je iedereen en niemand kent.
Kom op en houd je staande.
Bij Tinangol in het noorden,
Geslapen in het longhouse,
Daar waar we alle beestjes hoorden.
Daar voelde ik me pluis.
In Batu Puteh verbleven we samen,
In tweetallen in gastgezinnen,
En we kwamen.
Om een nacht in de jungle te overwinnen.
In Kipouvo was het maar even,
Een weekendje gezellig bij elkaar,
Vrienden blijven we voor het leven.
Of het nou hier is of daar.
-(hierna vertrokken de Engelsen door naar Cambodja, hier zat een maand erop)
In Bongkud begon het avontuur,
De jungletrack bracht ons samen (af en toe) door de hel,
Al was het maar van korte duur.
Maar gezellig was het in Bongkud zeker wel.
In Mantanani was het weer,
Zoals op een tropisch eiland,
Hier verbrande iedereen toch zeer.
Maar het was relaxed aan zee en zand.
Toch wil ik even zeggen,
Camp Borneo, bedankt voor even,
Ik weet dat het valt uit te leggen.
Maar het was een gezellig en leerzaam moment in het leven.

Translation
Borneo
In the country where you are,
Are for 2 months,
There where you no/somebody.
Come on and enjoy.
In Tinangol in the north,
Sleeping in a longhouse,
There where we could hear anything.
That was nice.
In Batu Puteh we were together,
In twos in a homestay,
We came.
To survive a night in the jungle.
In kipouvo was it short,
A weekend together,
We stay friend.
If it is here or there.

In bongkud started the adventure,
We went into the jungle,
All was it just a short time.
It was fun in Bongkud.
In Mantanani was the weather,
Like a tropical island,
People were burned.
But it was relaxed at sea and sand.
I would like to say,
Camp Borneo, thank you,
I want to explain.
It was fun and I learned a lot for my life.
